294 notifications since 1 January 2020 named illegal import or unapproved establishment, under 1% of all EU notifications in that time. 86 in the 365 days to 8 November 2026, against 55 in the 365 days before, up 56%. 45% were border rejections and 14% had a serious risk decision.
The origins named most often were China (31), Moldova (21) and Ghana (18). The product categories named most often were other and mixed food products (59), food supplements and dietetic foods (43) and fruit and vegetables (24). The products named most often were food supplements (28), biscuits (13) and smoked fish (6).
