Eggs are one of the 14 allergens that must be shown on the label in the EU (point 3 of Annex II to Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011). These notifications report it in a food whose label did not declare it.
119 notifications since 1 January 2020 named undeclared egg, under 1% of all EU notifications in that time. 17 in the 365 days to 8 November 2026, against 25 in the 365 days before, down 32%. 6% were border rejections and 82% had a serious risk decision.
The origins named most often were the Netherlands (29), China (10) and Italy (9). The product categories named most often were other and mixed food products (27), prepared dishes and snacks (25) and cereals and bakery products (21). The products named most often were biscuits (6), cheese (6) and cakes and pastries (4).
