Sources and method

Every number on this site comes from a named source, or is computed from one, with the date it was read.

Where the numbers come from

Mid market

ExchangeRate API, open access feed

One request a day to open.er-api.com, rates quoted against the US dollar. The rupee rate for any currency is the rupees per dollar divided by that currency's units per dollar. ExchangeRate API describes its rates as "indicative midpoint rates" blended from central bank and commercial sources and updated once every 24 hours on the free feed. Its documentation asks for attribution with a link on every page that uses the rates; the footer of every page carries it. Its terms allow storing the data and do not allow passing it on, so this site shows the numbers on its pages and offers no download or feed of them. The provider says the rates are not meant for real transactions. Last update used here: 8 November 2026, 00:02 UTC.

Quotes

Provider quotes: not shown yet

Wise publishes a Comparison API with estimates for many providers. Its documentation says every request needs authentication, and the site does not hold a key yet, so no provider table is shown and nothing is taken from provider websites. If a key is obtained and Wise's terms for it allow public display, the table will appear on each corridor page with the time each quote was collected and Wise's attribution. Wise is itself one of the providers it compares, and the page will say so.

History

Daily snapshots

The site keeps one dated snapshot a day from 18 October 2026. It holds 22 days so far. Charts appear once 7 days are held. Nothing is fetched while you read a page.

Schedule

Rebuilt once a day

Every morning, after the feed's daily update, a job fetches the new rates, checks them (complete, recent, no implausible jump) and rebuilds every page. If anything fails, yesterday's pages stay up unchanged.

Rounding

How numbers are rounded

Rates are shown to two decimals and rupee amounts to the nearest rupee. Calculator results in dirhams and riyals are shown to two decimals; the laws quoted do not set a rounding rule, so nothing else is rounded along the way.

Laws, schemes and official pages

Every rule the answers and calculators rely on, with the date it was read on the official source. If an official source changes, it wins over this site.
