Worked example with made up numbers

Say a provider offers 74.46 rupees per QAR and charges a fee of QAR 3.00, taken from the 500 QAR you pay. QAR 497.00 is converted, so PKR 37,007 reaches Pakistan. At today's mid market rate of 75.9829, your 500 QAR is worth PKR 37,991. The difference, PKR 985, or 2.59%, is the full cost of this transfer: PKR 228 from the fee and PKR 757 from a rate 2.00% below mid market. These numbers are an example, not a real quote.

Questions

Qatar to Pakistan, answered

What is the riyal to rupee rate today?

On 8 November 2026 the mid market rate was 75.98 Pakistani rupees for one Qatari riyal (QAR). This is ExchangeRate API's daily indicative midpoint rate. Banks and transfer services usually give a lower rate and keep the difference.

How much is 500 riyals in Pakistani rupees today?

At the mid market rate of 75.98 on 8 November 2026, 500 QAR is worth PKR 37,991. The amount that actually arrives depends on the provider's fee and exchange rate and will usually be lower.

What is the cheapest way to send money from Qatar to Pakistan?

No provider is cheapest every day. Ask each one how many rupees will arrive for the same amount after all fees, and compare that number with the mid market value. The quote with the smallest gap is the cheapest transfer that day.

Why is the rate I am offered lower than this one?

The mid market rate is a midpoint between buying and selling prices, not a retail price. Providers usually sell you rupees at a rate below it and keep the difference as their margin, often on top of a fee. The margin is part of the cost even when the fee is zero.

How much is a salary of 3,000 riyals a month in Pakistani rupees?

At the mid market rate on 8 November 2026, 3,000 QAR a month is worth PKR 227,949 a month, or PKR 2,735,385 over twelve months. The rupees that reach Pakistan will be fewer, after the fee and margin of the transfer.

Is there an end of service calculator for Qatar?

Not on this site yet. The calculators cover the UAE and Saudi Arabia, whose labour laws were read article by article for them. Qatar has its own labour law with its own rules, which this site has not checked, so it gives no estimate for it.

Does the person in Pakistan pay a fee to receive it?

Not for qualifying transfers of USD 200 or more, which is about 728 QAR on 8 November 2026. State Bank of Pakistan rules tell banks in Pakistan to keep these home remittances free of fees and charges for the sender and the receiver. The rules cover fees, not the exchange rate.

Is money sent home taxed in Pakistan?

Section 111(4) of the Income Tax Ordinance keeps up to five million rupees a tax year of foreign remittances, sent through normal banking channels and encashed by a Pakistani bank, outside the rules on unexplained income, if a bank certificate is produced. Exchange companies and money transfer operators count as banking channels.
