Yes, in one round. According to Hello Interview, since October 2025 one of the two onsite coding rounds for software engineers and engineering managers up to E7 and M2 is an AI enabled round, where an assistant sits beside the editor. The other coding round stays classic, with no AI. Meta has published no public guide to the format.

What else is known?
The round lasts about 60 minutes in a three panel CoderPad layout: a file explorer, the editor and an AI chat. Hello Interview reports that the assistant can read the project files but answers only in the chat; it cannot edit files, so you write or paste every change yourself. One multi file problem runs in three phases: fix a bug, build the core feature, then make it fast enough for larger inputs.
Hello Interview quotes an internal Meta source as saying candidates should use AI but need to show they understand the code, and it reports candidates marked down for leaning on the assistant as a crutch. Treat these as candidate and recruiter reports, not Meta policy.
The plan first surfaced in July 2025, when 404 Media reported internal Meta posts asking employees to volunteer as mock candidates for AI enabled interviews.
When did it change?
- 29 July 2025: 404 Media reports internal posts about AI enabled interviews and mock candidates
- October 2025: Rollout of the AI enabled round begins, per Hello Interview
