Acetamiprid is a pesticide substance. The EU sets a maximum residue level for each pesticide and crop, the highest residue legally tolerated when the pesticide is used correctly, and where no level is set the default is 0.01 mg/kg (Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, Article 18).
345 notifications since 1 January 2020 named acetamiprid, 1% of all EU notifications in that time. 73 in the 365 days to 8 November 2026, against 54 in the 365 days before, up 35%. 63% were border rejections and 65% had a serious risk decision.
The origins named most often were Türkiye (188), Pakistan (46) and Italy (19). The product categories named most often were fruit and vegetables (268), cereals and bakery products (48) and herbs and spices (15). The products named most often were peppers (126), grapes (34) and rice (32).
