Trip Cost is a free, fast fuel cost calculator for any drive. Type the distance, how much your car uses and the price you pay, and see the total cost, the cost per person and how much fuel or energy the trip needs.
How it works

Type the distance in kilometres or miles and turn on round trip for the way back. Pick a saved car or type its fuel use, then add your fuel price, tolls and parking.
See the total, the fuel needed and the cost per mile, with tolls and parking included. Set how many people share the ride and the shares add up to the exact total. In the example, 3 people split $57.98 to the cent.
The trip is priced in every vehicle you saved, side by side, with the same distance, tolls and parking. In the example, the electric hatchback is cheapest and saves $31.44 against the diesel pickup.
Add each petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric vehicle with its fuel use in the units you already know. Choose one for trips. Once you log fill ups, its measured consumption appears next to it.
Log each fill up with the date, odometer and amount paid. The app works out your real consumption from full tank to full tank, plus this month's spend and cost per mile. In the example, the sedan averages 33.8 mpg.
The stats view shows what you spent in each of the last six months, with fill ups, fuel bought and distance. In the example, six months of fuel came to $467.77. You can also export the log as a CSV file.

What it does
Kilometres or miles. L/100 km, km/L, mpg (US) or mpg (UK). Fuel priced per litre, per US gallon or per UK gallon. Electric cars in kWh/100 km, mi/kWh or Wh/km. Every conversion uses the exact definitions, so a UK mpg figure is never mixed up with a US one.
Pick a saved car or type the efficiency straight in. Turn on round trip for the way back, add tolls and parking, and the result shows the fuel needed, the fuel cost and the cost per km or per mile.
Enter your price per kWh, or split home and public charging and give the share charged at home. The app uses the weighted price for the trip.
Set how many people share the ride. Shares add up to the exact total, down to the cent, and the app tells you when one person pays a cent more.
Save your vehicles once. The same trip is priced in each of them side by side, so you can see what the electric car or the diesel saves on the drive you are planning.
Log each fill up with the date, odometer, amount and the total paid or the price per litre, gallon or kWh. The log works out your real consumption with the standard full to full method: partial fills count towards the next full tank. You also get the cost per km or mile, this month's spend, totals and a stats view of the last six months.
Export the whole log as a CSV file for a spreadsheet, a mileage claim or your own records.
The app has no live fuel prices. It uses the prices you type, so the result matches what you pay at your pump or on your tariff.
