A watchlist of US national parks, trip countdowns and a checklist for each trip.
Early access. The app works in your browser today; the Android app follows when enough people ask for it.

Park Alerts keeps your national park plans in one place: the parks you want to visit, your trip dates with a countdown, and a checklist for each trip, with a quick way to the official alerts and conditions for every park.
How it works
Real screens from the app, filled with example data.

Your next trip sits on top with a countdown and how much of its checklist is done. In the example, the Yosemite trip starts in 24 days with 3 of 6 items done.

Pick the park, type or step the first and last day, and add notes. The countdown counts both the first and the last day of the trip.

Every trip starts with a short checklist you can change. Tick items off, remove them or add your own, such as bear spray.

Alerts for all your parks sit in one list, danger and closures first. In this early version they are examples, each clearly marked, with links to the official pages.

Search the national parks by name or state and star the ones you want to visit. In the example, the watchlist holds Yosemite, Zion and Acadia.

Each park shows your trips there, its example alerts and links to the official park page and current conditions on nps.gov.

What it does
Search the national parks by name or state, from Acadia to Zion, and star the ones you want to watch.
Add a trip with its first and last day. The app counts down the days, then shows which day of the trip you are on.
Every trip starts with a short checklist, such as entry reservations, a park pass and offline maps. Tick items off, remove them and add your own.
See alerts for all the parks on your watchlist in one list, sorted with danger and closures first. In this early version the alerts are examples, clearly marked, while we work on the official feed.
Each park links to its official page and its current conditions page on nps.gov, so you can read the real alerts before you go.
No account and no sign in. Your trips and watchlist stay on your phone. Park Alerts is an independent app and is not linked to the National Park Service.
Use it in your browser now, no account.
The phone app needs no signal.
What you enter stays on your device.
